Software Enhancements – Q1 2026

April 28, 2026

Several customer-requested enhancements have been made to eSchedule reports, including adding:

  1. The ability to display user defined data fields to reports – if you use the User Defined Fields tool under the Administration menu to create custom fields, we now offer the option to display these fields on a number of our reports.
  2. Totals to Shift Details Report – total hours for shifts have been added to the Shift Details Report, giving administrators the ability to see both the details of members’ shifts, along with the total hours for the shifts.
  3. Lunch time comments on Printable Timecards – comments employees enter when clocking in and out for lunch are now included in the Printable Timecards.
  4. Multi department support for the User Management list – Time Clock supervisors who oversee multiple detparments now have access to employees in those departments in the User Management list.

As covered in the Time Clock Authorization Tutorial mentioned in the Quick Tips videos section above, you now have the ability to add multiple geofences to restrict where employees can clock in and out!

We are happy to share users now have the ability to save their signature to reuse again in the future for signing their timecards and forms! When users sign their timecard, they will be asked if they want to save their signature to their profile. After confirming, they will then have the option to use their saved signature when signing their timecards and forms.

As demonstrated in the Close Shift Balance Tutorial, schedulers now have the ability to close the balance of shifts on recurrences, in addition to single shifts.  This feature allows schedulers to schedule employees for partial shifts, while also closing the rest of the shift so it doesn’t appear open.

Based on customer feedback, we have reworked the auto lunch deduct functionality to automatically subtract the lunch time from the total hours worked, rather than adjusting the shift end time as it had functioned previously.

Administrators now have the ability to create recurring events on the Events Calendar, which can be useful for regularly scheduled meetings or training.

We are happy to share that administrators can now approve partial shift PTO requests, such as a request to take off 4 hours of an 8-hour shift, without removing the employee from the entire shift. After approving the PTO request, in the pop-up window that follows, administrators will want to select the shift and click Sign Off. The system will then automatically take the employee off the shift for just the time they requested to take off and keep them scheduled for the rest of their shift.

As demonstrated in this month’s Quick Tips video, the Submit PTO Request page has been updated to include an “Add Another Entry” option, allowing users to select multiple days and times they wish to take off from the Enter Dates tab.  Users can also use the Find Dates tab to ask the system to find shifts within a selected date range and then choose which days they’d like to request off.

Now, when schedulers and administrators send open shift notifications for Standy Shifts (Events), the Event Name is included in the notification.

As shared last month, schedulers now have the ability to close the balance of shifts on recurrences. We have updated this functionality to allow schedulers to remove the recurrences for the portion of the shifts that were closed, so they can all be reopened in one edit.

In addition to the traditional format of displaying member’s names on the schedule with first initial + last name, users can now choose from 5 additional options within their Schedule Preferences: first name + last initial, first name only, last name only, full name and hide name.
